We had the opportunity to attend several weddings with a variety of regional customs. Under the glistening chandeliers and flickering candles of Park Hyatt Saigon, Kim & Jorgen’s wedding has a classic and magnificent design. Kim and Jorgen live in Norway, a country located in Northern Europe. Since Jorgen is Norwegian, there were unique Norwegian traditions at Kim and Jorgen’s wedding. Giving kisses is one way people mark this particular day. If the husband leaves the room during the celebration, this is a hint that the bride is open to receiving intimate kisses from male partygoers. And when the bride exits the room, the girls also kiss the groom. If guests want to see the bride and groom kiss, they can knock a fork or knife into their glasses. The bride and groom must then stand on chairs and kiss each other in front of the guests. The wedding day is also made more enjoyable and relaxed by these distinctively Norwegian customs.
The day of Kim and Jorgen’s wedding was both their and our unique occasion as we got a chance to witness and save their once-in-a-lifetime emotions. We are grateful to Kim and Jorgen for allowing us to preserve those priceless moments for them and to get to know them.
